Vast amounts of food, a perfectly set table, and of course – drinks all around. In the pictures, you’ll notice Cousin Donna and Cousin Kevin cavorting with Karen (and Karen rarely cavorts – it’s hard on her limbs.) You’ll also discover Dwight and our not-to-be-named international guest manning the DTR Call Center phones. Outside, Surly Bartender Chris morphs into his unnamed babushka character (she seems nice, but no one understood a word she said). Never needing a bandana – her hair is always perfectly coiffed – Marilyn spends quality time with her handsome gentlemen callers. At the fire pit, Executive Chef Karl shares insider tips for making perfect s’mores while Greg gambols around the Covered Wagon with the guests. And behind all the frolicking, our own dear proprietor orchestrates the perfect atmosphere, catering to each guest’s desires.
Yours truly, on the other hand, was undertaking an outdoor expedition. The mountain peaks near Idyllwild were once again the destination for DTR’s Global Explorations Division. With proper rope and gear, several members of the Hiking Club ventured up the rock formations, scaling new heights and achieving new successes. Only one picture exists from this particular trip and we are happy to post it here. I’m pleased to introduce John and Armi. Check the DTR store - we expect to have red bandanas in stock by September 15.
Finally, the Resort is thrilled to announce the full recovery of Patience. She is seen here leaving the resort on the way to Bela’s for a tune-up (and a battery cable replacement procedure). There is some discussion as to her next appearance, but it will likely be at the soon-to-be-announced Pomona Drive-In.
