It’s hot in Southern California! Here’s hoping Proprietor John is having cooler weather and avoiding Midwest floods. The heat may have gotten to Blog Droid as she is only able now to recount Key Holder doings:
Despite the high temperatures, the newly-formed DTR Hiking Club continues its exploration of Southern California trails. This week Anne and JohnH boldly adventured where few Angelenos go. That is to say, they got off the pavement, onto dirt trails and found themselves in nearly 100% natural surroundings.
The BBC’s Doctor Who is beginning to wind up the season, much to Dwight and Anne’s disappointment. Anne is suffering withdrawals, but promises to press on and has already provided Dwight with possible dates to schedule two evenings at Casa de Shoshone for eating, drinking and watching Doctor Who.
On the technology front, Karl has been working with Gregg to sort out iPhone website display setbacks. As the leader of the DTR Twitter group, Karl is also testing a new service, SnapTweet, which allows folks to post their latest Flickr photos to the Twitter stream.
Mark will soon depart for Israel – a cultural tour of Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. It’s likely that he will be the only goyim on the tour. If you wish to make a donation to fund the purchase of a gift yarmulke, please see Karen in reception.
Chris is waiting for Anne to set up an important meeting regarding the DTR Cookbook project. Apparently the heat temporarily seared this plan from her brain but Anne and Chris will soon convene. Together they will begin formulating, diagramming and strategizing the book’s bar and cocktail elements. Chartreuse is likely to be involved in this phase of the endeavor.
John returns to the bar in 36 short hours. All Hail the Chief!
